Excuse me as I take a 3 week or so blogging break. I should return to blogging in early November. I hope everyone will have a safe and fun Halloween! God bless.
I’m
excited about this week’s Celebrate the Small Things, hosted by VikLit of
Scribblings of an Aspiring Author. There’s been much to celebrate, and there's an
announcement to make.
This
week, I’m happy that:
- The weather’s still beautiful. Always something to rejoice about.
- I went to my mom’s church on Monday night, the church I was raised in. She invited me to hear a guest preacher, and it was good to remember the church – with some of the same deacons and musicians as when I was a child. The sermon was nice and the worship pretty good, and my mom was happy I was there.
- Had several work meetings to go to that were quite interesting, but which allowed me to get off work early. :))
- I won Brandon Ford’s book Merciless in a giveaway, and am excitedly awaiting it in the mail.
- Was able to help a new friend, Lissa Bryan, in the reveal of her book The End of All Things.
Now,
for the announcement: I will be taking at least a three week break from blogging starting
Monday, October 14, but will do some blog visits during this time.
See you this weekend! - as I’ll try to do lots
of visits before my break.
Have a great break, I hope you get lots done!
ReplyDeleteYou had lots of great celebrations this week. I'm jealous that you were able to visit your childhood church. Mine had to close two years ago. I always enjoyed going back to that beautiful old stone church with the glorious stained glass windows to hear the organ and visit the members from my childhood. No more. And it makes me sad. Maybe I'll have to join the celebrate the small things hop to get over it. :)
ReplyDeleteI completely understand about taking blogging breaks. Have an enjoyable one, and I look forward to your return. Take care!
That is a sad thing. Just looking at the pews, and the baptismal pool where I was baptized the first time, and seeing the organs, was so nostalgic.
DeleteMy break's been stewing for a while, but nows the time. You take care too!
Congrats on the giveaway win, I won a copy of Vanquished Knight. Enjoy the break Nancy.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to make your mother happy!
ReplyDeleteHope you get a lot accomplished during your break.
Well done with the win, I love winning books. I hope your break is enjoyable too :)
ReplyDeleteWinning books is also worth celebrating. Hope you have a productive blog break, catch you when you return.
ReplyDeleteI love visiting other churches and hearing different speakers. Enjoy your break!
ReplyDeleteYou've had a thoughtful and busy week, Nancy. Glad you won a merciless prize :) Good of you to bring that further awareness of Lissa.
ReplyDeleteIt can be difficult finding the right balance in visiting other sites. You can only do what you can do. Enjoy your blogging break. And have a great weekend!
Gary :)
Sounds like a good week. Enjoy your 3 weeks off.

Love your assortment of celebratory things...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your 3 week bloggy break!
oh cool, you won a book, congrats! Also having the opportunity to help a friend is always awesome. Have a wonderful break and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteVacations are ESSENTIAL! Good for you for taking one. Enjoy it, and don't feel badly!
ReplyDeleteYes, not feeling bad is the tough part. Thanks Liz, and everyone for your warm wishes!
DeleteYay to getting off work early :) Enjoy your break!
ReplyDeletePraising God is always a good thing, and when it makes your mother happy in the process, it's a double blessing. Enjoy your blogging time off. I hope you get lots of work done.
ReplyDeleteYou're right about that Nana Prah!
DeleteYou've got your priorities straight; writing should always come first. Now get those stories out there!
ReplyDeleteYes sir! Starting Monday... hopefully. :)
DeleteIt sounds like you had a good week! I hope you enjoy your well-deserved blogging break--we'll miss you, but you need to take care of yourself first! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww. That makes me feel so loved! :)
DeleteIt's always difficult to find time to comment on blogs and work on your own posts/projects. Can totally understand why you'd need a break. I'm thinking of taking one soon myself.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a very nice week. Hope this week is just as enjoyable. Enjoy your break! :)
Yes! It's been abrewing for quite a while, and now's the time.
DeleteHi Nancy & thanks for visiting me at Lowfell Writers Place, and for your comments. Glad you had a good week last week and hope you have a good break - more time for you and writing perhaps. Blogging does take up a lot of time and I have found that I've had to let things slide a little there myself - otherwise I'd never get any writing done at all. Enjoy your time.
ReplyDeleteSomething's gotta give in today's world when we try and do so much. I hope to get in gear and do lots of writing and some submissions.
DeleteHave a great break, Nancy! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great break! Sometimes you just need to get away from all this online stuff for a while....
ReplyDeleteWell I'm a little late, obviously (I took the weekend off), but enjoy your break! Get all the real life in you can, eh?
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know about real life... writing fiction doesn't quite fit the bill. But, still, I know what you mean.
DeleteCongrats on winning the book! I hope you enjoy it once you get it. I'm sure your mom really appreciated your presence at church. Have a great week and get a lot of rest during your blogging-break. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's what I need to do . . . announce I'm taking a break instead of freaking that I'm not posting. Duh! Thanks Nancy. Yes. Lots happening for both of us. Thanks so much for the visit. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it would have occurred to me if I hadn't seen others announce their breaks. :) And you're welcome!
DeleteSuch a wonderful celebration. Enjoy your break and don't worry about us. We're not going anywhere...though we all find time to disappear and hide when necessary. Looking forward to seeing you in November :)
ReplyDeleteGod bless you! Rest, refresh, write, enjoy your loved ones, family or not, and come back renewed!

Lol! I totally know what you mean about life being to busy. Have a great blogger break!!! You definitely deserve it :)
ReplyDeleteBlog breaks are prescious jewels to cherish. I just returned from a LONG blog break and it was wonderful. I feel refreshed and renewed.Truth be told you're going to quickly find out three weeks is not nearly enough time. It'll fly by so fast you won't even get to feel the true benefits of a break. I used to do quickie breaks, then I learned longer ones worked way better. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good time away. :-)
ReplyDeletegreat celebrations! and we all need to take a break now & then! hope youre enjoying the fall!
