A "Keeping-my-cool" Celebration

Here’s to VikLit’s Celebrate the Small Things weekly blog hop.

This week I’m thankful for:

  • Although a friend who’s separated from her husband has been living with me for the last month in my one bedroom apartment, and she talks A LOT about herself, it’s been mostly good this week. God’s working in me, again, to not be depressed about my reduced privacy time. (I don't think she will, but I pray she doesn't read this post!)
  • My CP has been giving me lots of encouraging words (plus plenty of suggestions for rewrite time) about my WIP, Anticipating Dawn. I still hope to complete the first draft before the year’s end. (I love the serial killer - well not him, but - he's completely sick!)
  • I’ve done yet another interview, this time focusing on Salted With Fire, on Conversations Live .
Wishing all a wonderful, revealing, weekend!

    1. Thanks Sheena-kay. It was a shocking situation to learn they might be divorcing, and so it was a something I had to do.

  2. You may have reduced privacy now, but I'll bet you will miss her when she is gone.

  5. All serial killers should be 'sick' - LOL

Yes, giving up privacy is hard, but I'm sure she'll be appreciative.

    Congrats on the interview!

    1. At times I feel like I may go nuts with the conflicting emotions. She's nice as all that, but you know how hard it is when you'd prefer to be alone?

  8. Hey Nancy,

One moment, please. Argggghhhh!!! blog hops! Sorry about that. However, I feel much better. Phew! :)

Your reduced privacy time will be but a passing phase. I'm sure your friend will have a number of positive chats with you. Get her to clean your apartment for you.

    "CP"? "WIP" HELP!

A live conversation. Okay, time permitting, I'll endeavour (endeavor) sorry English spell check, to check it out.

    Y'all have a peaceful weekend.

    Gary and POB! :)

    1. Glad you got that out Gary. :) Yes it will be a phase, it's just hard women when you don't see the end of it. But she does straighten up the place.

I think I add the acronyms just for you to give you practice!

  9. Here's to more privacy in your (near) future! Glad you are enjoying your WIP, that's always a huge plus when it comes together how you want it to =)

  10. Hopefully you get that privacy increase soon! (and that she doesn't read this)

CP's are awesome, I'm glad you are working and getting it done. Completely sick characters? Nice! lol

  11. It's very generous of you to give your friend a place to stay. Divorce is very stressful and I'm sure she needs all the help she can get. Somehow, I missed the fact that you wrote horror. I wish you good luck on making that serial killer as scary as possible! :-)

    1. It's still hard to consider myself horror - guess my view of horror has been quite narrow.

    1. :) Got me some earplugs, but it's easier to just close my door!

  14. Well, you've been busy. I'll try to hit that interview.

I understand "company." I've had some for way too long now and am ready for my own privacy again.

I just keep saying, "It will all work out for the best."

    1. I keep telling myself that too, and that God's teaching me things... hopefully I'll learn whatever it is. :)

  15. It is very hard to share our space, routine and preferred lifestyle with others. It is a good teaching moment; you are so wise and patient to look at it like that.

Enjoy all your interviews and tours-- very exciting.
