Friday's Celebration of the Small Things

Oh, I've been so busy today, that I forgot about this most important blog hop hosted by VikLit! This is the hop to not forget about so many of our blessings that we so easily take for granted.

Last week on Sabrina's Writing Reflections, she spoke about enjoying sitting and celebrating quiet time, nature and a cup of coffee, even if for a few moments. I do strive to enjoy peaceful moments, and wish to celebrate that God does provide us those times often, if only we'd allow ourselves to do so. In essence, I'm celebrating peace.

A natural reminder for me of how great peace can be is the ocean. So here's my take on the peacefulness and magnificence of water.

  1. Celebrating peaceful moments! I love it, we take our time for granted and try to get things done one after another and never do just sit and reflect... sigh.

Beautiful picture by the way, thanks for sharing, it has just the effect you want it too ;)

  7. That's such a wonderful picture and to think down there, perfect silence is all we get. Ocean is able to put off the worst of my fires. :)

    1. Perfect silence - at least until you get so deep and pressure blows your eardrums. Then you'll probably hear a constant, irritating ringing! :) But like you said, you can only dream of going into water, right? if you want to keep your fiery breath. :)

  8. I try to celebrate peace daily by incorporating fresh air and silence into my daily routine. It always settles the clutter in my head.

    1. That it does! And service today helped me to realize that I've dropped worshipping God through singing at home, which is the BEST way to get out of the blues.

  10. I am just now catching up on the Small Things hop (I did forget about it!) and what a beautiful post and picture this is. I love the ocean and always feel at peace when I can just look out at the sea in front of me. This picture is the next best thing to being there.

Hope you've enjoyed your weekend and have a week filled with peace. :)

    1. Glad you've made your way here and that you enjoyed the pic. Peace is such a blessing, and anything that can boost that feeling is primo! The ocean seems so much a part of us yet so foreign at the same time. It's one of God's many magical creations.
