A new blog hop of comedy, tragedy, horror, drama - whichever suits your fancy! Yes, two folks (Michelle Wallace of Writer in Transit and Elise Fallson) are having their 2 year blog-o-versaries and decided to host this fun hop and giveaway. We have to put in the dialogue for the cartoon panels below and see who reaches their hall of fame.
And of course there are bonus words: Twist, cheek, buzz, honour (don't know if I'll lose points for spelling it the American way!), grey, champagne, tango, vomit.
Michelle (one in balloon): Darn it, Elise, you said you'd hold on tight! Do you even understand about the fear of heights?
Elise: I was holding on until I had an itch on my cheek. Thought it might be a spider and you know about my love of spiders. But it wasn't a spider - a leaf blew across my face. Just wait - I'll get you!
PANEL 2
Michelle: Yeah, you got me alright!
Elise: Don't worry, I'm not afraid. Just let me try and get my bearings and not vomit up my breakfast. I knew it was too early for champagne, but it's our blogoversary!
PANEL 3
Elise: Let me just twist a little to the right....
Michelle: Do you hear a buzzing sound? You know I hate bugs Elise! Get it away from me!!
Elise: I don't hear anyth... Oh... look!
Michelle: What the... Who is that? Is that a grey 'V' on his cape? What honor! He's coming to save us!
V: Hold on, I have come to save you...
V: Oh...my...(cough, grunt, sneeze) ...if only I had paid more attention in airspeed momentum class instead of thinking about my tango lessons.
Michelle and Elise: Ahhhhhh!!!!!!
PANEL 5
Elise: Hold your nose Michelle. We're going in for a dive-landing!
Michelle: Man, I just got my hair done!
PANEL 6
Elise: Well, just look at us. Your stylist could not have made you look nowhere as exotic as you do now.
Michelle: (snickers and smiles) I'll bet!
PANEL 7
Dragon: (sniffs and inches forward) Gruff, spfft, mmmm....
Michelle: Talking about exotic. Seems like that dragon has spotted his lunch.
Elise: Let's do the honorable thing and point the dragon to his real lunch. Looks like it's 'This Way.' I'm sure V will be fine real soon.
(Elise and Michelle leave arm-in-arm, and the dragon follows along obediently.)
Happy, happy, happy 2nd year blog-o-versary to you both!
Naw, just let the dragon eat him!
ReplyDeleteHope I don't lose bonus points for changing the spelling of honor either.
Just heartless! :)
DeleteSo you've done yours already? I didn't see it.
It was kind of them to save V after the trouble he caused!
ReplyDeleteHey, he tried to save them!
DeleteHaha, very good Nancy. Funny stuff :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark. Fun, eh?
DeleteVery nice, Nancy, but the dragon could have eaten the cape guy. :) I changed the spelling in gray, so I guess we're on the same boat.
ReplyDeleteMost dragons I know only eat people out of desperation, self-defense or an act of war.
DeleteSince when is a dragon obedient? Al??? Do dragons have an obedient side no one ever told me about?
ReplyDeleteOf course some are very obedient. Hadn't you seen Pete's Dragon or How to Train Your Dragon?
Deletethat was cute! and i do like their new exotic hairstyles!
ReplyDeleteJust try falling into a lake from a hot air balloon. It'll be fabulous.
DeleteThis was great Nancy! Thanks for participating and no worries about the spelling variation.
ReplyDelete"if only I had paid more attention in airspeed momentum class instead of thinking about my tango lessons." LOL!
Glad you saved V in the end. (;
I knew someone would have a heart!
DeleteGreat job Nancy!
ReplyDeleteIt's more about creativity, fun and laughter, so spelling doesn't matter!
Instead of V saving the ladies, they had to rescue him. LOL.
Thank you for taking part in the blog hop.
You're quite welcome Michelle. It was fun. :)
Deletelol.. nice job, Nancy! And I see we both had Michelle mention her hair. Great minds!
ReplyDeleteYes, well, you know how much work it is to keep your hair looking decent?!
DeleteThis was all good, but I think Panel 4 was my fave too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nick. I think you're right. :)
DeleteThis was very clever! I agree with Nick about Panel #4!
ReplyDeleteJulie
Thank you Julie. This is a great exercise for writing dialogues.
DeleteThose tango lessons will get you in trouble every time! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSeems like you've had experience in that Melissa!
DeleteThat's a very obedient dragon. Just the kind I want.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you by the way!
DeleteYes. But even the mean ones are cool! Nice to meet you too. :)
DeleteNice of them to lead the dragon away. Good job with the strip.
ReplyDeleteThe dragon probably would have been poisoned anyway. :)
DeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for the kind words on my blog and I am so EXCITED for you Nancy, ahead of your upcoming Writers' Conference.
And, please don't be too nervous or fearful to share your work or meet new people.
I PROMISE you will be amazed at how nice your fellow writers are face-to-face... think about it, if you've never been to a Conference, this is going to be the first time ever in a group setting where you WON'T have to tell strangers what you do :)
Take EVERY opportunity to share your work - and *don't* share your most polished pieces... share the ones you feel is wrong somewhere... the readers will give you the Missing answers to fix the issue :)
GOOD LUCK!!!
I'll take your advice to heart Mark. Thanks. My first experience with a writer's conference was SF's Writer's Conference last year. It was very overwhelming. This should be much more lax.
DeleteHahaha! Love it! This bloghop is killing me---and your captions were great! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Morgan. :)
DeleteAirspeed momentum class! Ha!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it exist?
DeleteLOL. That's what you get for not paying attention in class, I guess!
