It's been too long IWSG!

Thanks to Alex J. Cavanaugh and his 1st Wednesday of the month blog hop, Insecure Writer's Support Group, I get to whine, finally!

Once I did a post entitled, “Feeling blessed but lacking?” where I discussed how things – well I – just don’t seem to be doing enough. That was the gist of the post. I’m feeling a bit like that, but not in a melancholic sort of way. It’s one of those feelings like, “If you don’t read one more chapter,” “If you don’t read and comment on another blog” or “If you don’t write on your WIP today,” things will never get done and I’ll miss my opportunity. How crazy is that?

It doesn’t help when work this week has been slow, and I can’t even visit blogs at work while it’s slow. Instead, during slow times, I’ve been reading an indie book I need to finish and chapters of my CP’s work. So, this week  hasn’t been too washed out. And I’m off Thursday and Friday, during which I’m hoping to catch up on visiting blogs (Why does it seem you can never catch up?) I’m planning on not wasting too much time watching TV. Although I do have to see WWZ this weekend.

I pray that my mind focuses on blogging and writing, writing and more writing this weekend. Thanks for listening to me whine! Now I'll go listen to you. :)

  1. You're not whining, you're expressing yourself. Hope this helped make you feel better Nancy.

  2. Hey Nancy! I hear ya! Once we enter the blogging world, there's no such thing as free time anymore. Every chance we get is spent trying to keep up, and you know what I've found? We can't. It's just too much. SO we do what we can do and fit in what we can fit in and don't feel guilty about it. It's impossible to do it all, so why try? Maybe we lose a follower here and there, but that happens anyway.
    Have a wonderful week! :D

    1. Thanks PK. Things we sometimes need to hear over and over again, because really, the will is there and it's fun! But so is vegging time. :) So got to not feel guilty when sometimes the computer has to sleep or get turned off for a while.

  3. It always seems to me like I can never catch up on blogs, some days are much harder than others!

  4. Ditto that feeling! I don't think it is impossible to catch up, but getting there and participating when you can, important. Everyone can agree, I think, although I will admit, time away makes me miss the news of what everyone else is doing. circle with no end! :)

  5. I love blogging and hopping around to visit others but it sure can be tough to keep up. Sometimes I have to just wave the white flag and admit I can't do it all.

    And I don't think there's anything wrong with a good whine! :D

  6. I completely relate. I think the trick is to be realistic about what we can do and push ourselves but also know when we need to back off and let ourselves rest.

  7. I have this weird almost compulsive side to me with lists, even the ones in my head, that include getting through all my blogs, checking email, catching up with my posts, writing, blah blah. And sometimes I can almost feel my heart pounding trying to get through everything. That's when I have to just think, "whoa, life goes on". And it does. And it's good-- for the heart, mind, body-- to stop, breathe and enjoy life.

    1. LOL! Julie, you make me worry sometimes. But I also know that you're sensible, even if a little OD, so I'll just chuckle at you and know you are alright!

  8. We all need to take a step back every now and then, Nancy. I do not think its whining at all, I hope you get to do all that writing over the weekend :D

  9. I think, a lot of times, we all feel like we're not doing 'enough' (which parallels my post, a bit) when we're probably doing too much.

Take a step back, breathe in and out, and relax a bit. Opportunity is, rarely, -that- fleeting and when it's time....it's time :)

    Have a great weekend!

  10. No matter where you are in this game, there never seems to be enough time. You just do what you can, what makes you happy, and you're golden. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, or it won't be enjoyable anymore. Refocus on those things that matter and make you happy.

  11. This is what the IWSG is for... whine on sister, whine on!
And I know what you mean about blog visits... just not enough time... *sighs*
Get it off your chest, and then move on. That's what I say.

  12. No one ever feels like it's enough! Our days could be twice as long and we'd never accomplish half of what we'd like to accomplish. Just do what you can and don't sweat the other stuff. Ultimately, it won't matter where we're going, right?

  13. Turning off the tv is a great start! I even posted a chart to that effect on my blog. Good luck.
